Changing Landscapes: Fieldwork and Research Conference

Join Ludlow University’s Department of Geography for the Changing Landscapes Conference - a full-day event exploring the ways geography helps us understand the planet’s evolving physical and human environments.

This annual conference brings together students, academics and professionals to share new insights into geographical research and practice. Through talks, workshops and exhibitions, participants will explore how fieldwork, technology and policy are helping us adapt to environmental, urban and social change.

Key themes include:

  • landscape evolution and climate adaptation
  • urban geography and sustainable development
  • fieldwork innovation and remote data collection
  • community engagement in environmental research

The event will feature keynote lectures from Prof Ava Garcia, Senior Lecturer in Human Geography at Ludlow University. A poster session will showcase recent student and postgraduate fieldwork projects, from local river monitoring to global development research.

The day will end with an informal networking reception, offering opportunities to connect with peers, professionals and research mentors.

Who should attend: geography and environmental science students, researchers, teachers, and members of the public with an interest in geography and sustainability.
