In the last of our film-season screenings, the Film Studies Department at Ludlow University in the UK is excited to announce a special showing of the classic action movie, Die Hard. This iconic film, directed by John McTiernan, stars Bruce Willis as John McClane, a New York City cop who must save hostages from a gang of terrorists on Christmas Eve.
The showing of Die Hard is taking place on the 20th of December at 7 pm in the university’s main auditorium. The event is open to all students, staff, and members of the public who are interested in film studies.
The Film Studies Department has selected Die Hard for this special event because of its significance in the action genre. The film is widely considered as one of the greatest action movies of all time and has been imitated and copied numerous times in the past 30 years. Die Hard introduced audiences to John McClane, a new kind of action hero, and set the bar for what a modern action movie should be.
As part of the event, the Film Studies Department will be hosting a panel discussion with some of the top film experts in the country. They will discuss the impact of Die Hard on the film industry, how it has influenced other action movies, and what makes it such a classic.
In addition to the panel discussion, the department is also offering a prize to the person who can answer the most questions about the movie. So, brush up on your Die Hard knowledge and come along to the event to test your skills.
The Film Studies Department at Ludlow University is dedicated to promoting film as a cultural and historical art form. With its special showing of Die Hard, the department hopes to bring together movie lovers, film experts, and students to celebrate one of the greatest action movies of all time.
So, if you’re a fan of Die Hard or just interested in film studies, make sure to mark the 20th of December in your calendar and join us for a night of action, suspense, and thrilling entertainment.
