Ludlow University has announced a new artist-in-residence programme, designed to strengthen the connection between creative practice, research, and community engagement. The initiative will invite established and emerging artists to collaborate with academic departments, develop new work, and inspire students through workshops and mentorship.
Residencies will span disciplines including visual arts, music, theatre, and digital media, offering artists access to the university’s studios, performance spaces, and research facilities. Each residency will culminate in a public exhibition, performance, or lecture, showcasing the creative outcomes and fostering dialogue between the university and the wider community.
This programme brings fresh creative perspectives into our academic environment. By embedding artists within research and teaching, we’re encouraging collaboration that challenges ideas and inspires innovation.
Students will have opportunities to work alongside resident artists, gaining insight into professional creative practice and contributing to interdisciplinary projects that link art with technology, health, and social change.
The first residency will begin this autumn, focusing on themes of environmental sustainability and artistic response to climate change.
Through this initiative, Ludlow University continues its commitment to nurturing creativity, supporting cultural exchange, and showcasing the transformative power of the arts.
